Welcome Messages

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2013 in Hong Kong this year.

Hong Kong played host to APICTA in 2004 and we are honoured to have this opportunity again.

In the past 12 years, we have witnessed that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) continues to fuel the growth of our industry and economy, and at the same time improve the ways we live. Many of the technologies and their applications were perhaps not even remotely conceivable when we last met here in Hong Kong 12 years ago. ICT is today the key driver and enabler for change and innovation that will shape the future of our societies.

Thanks to the efforts of its passionate stakeholders, APICTA has become a renowned and well-recognized flagship event in the calendar of the ICT industry in the region, providing an excellent platform for all member economies to showcase their capabilities and achievements in ICT innovations in the corporate, public and academic sectors.

Today we are in an era of much more advanced ICT development and, therefore, I believe we will see even more innovative ideas and intriguing entries at APICTA 2013.  We shall also spend some quality time to share our visions, creativities and experiences as friends and partners together then.

We look forward to welcoming you this November, and wish you all an enjoyable stay in Hong Kong.
